Università degli Studi del Molise (co-ordinator)
The
University of Molise, founded in 1982, is a State University. At present
it consists of five Faculties, which offer the following degree and
post-degree courses:
Educational Studies - professional training for teachers of primary
schools, post graduate course for secondary schools teachers training;
Economics - tourism economics, business and management studies,
political sciences, economic and social sciences, school for social
work;
Law - Law, Administration;
Agriculture - Food Science and Technology, Animal Production
and Technology, Plant Production and Technology;
Natural Sciences - Environmental sciences.
Students and teachers are supported by technical facilities, such as
multimedia rooms to make connections with all interlibrary networks
and to link up with several databases, language laboratories, for classes
in English, French and German, central library and departmental libraries.
The University offers orientation and tutoring regarding university
studies to senior high school students and guidance to all students
during their academic life, and promotion via contacts with companies,
government agencies and professional associations in order to promote
the development of relationships with the economic world; and via advertisements
concerning summer schools and scholarships for students and graduates
in Italy and abroad.
The University has 291 teachers and researchers, 237 administrative
staff and 8.012 enrolled students. The people involved in the network
will be the following team: 1 chief executive in informatics who will
be the coordinator and the supervisor for the creation and maintaining
of the web site, 2 University teachers for the coordination of the scientific
work, the supervision of the draft material to be uploaded in the net,
and the coordination of on-line teacher training, 2 computer associate
professionals (experts in informatics), 1 administrative coordinator,
for the coordination and management of the funds and 1 secretary.
The competences necessary for the specific thematic area of the network
are represented in the University Computing Centre for data processing
services and technical matters, by the staff members of the Faculty
of Educational Studies for questions related to didactic methodologies,
new didactic methods and knowledge on matters concerning the thematic
area of the network, and in the international relations office for the
administrative coordination of the project.
The theme of the Cultural Heritage is especially relevant for the department
of Social, Historical and Economical Studies and for the teachers engaged
in teacher training courses.
